LINKS (2026) is a docu-narrative short film directed by Nina Jang that explores kinship, dreamscapes, communal spaces of visioning, local histories + movements of youth-led cultural production in London and Caribbean sound system culture. The film weaves in archival films from the London Community Video Archive (LCVA) collection. The film was made possible by a micro-grant from the Undercommons Collective.

Gallivanting leads the friends to an unknown warehouse.
The group curiously enters this new portal.
The friends find salvaged materials high + low around the warehouse.
Ideas are brimming on how + what to make together.
Whilst scheming + dreaming, the friends decide to build a sound system using the found materials informed by personal sonic histories + Caribbean sound system culture knowledges.
Call a friend - After ringing Angelica from Black Obsidian Sound System (B.O.S.S.) to enlist their help, the friends piece together available materials + shared knowledges of sound system building. B.O.S.S. drop by to lend their sound system to test out + rehearse the new learnings.
The next frame fades to Soanes Centre, a youth-education site nestled in Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park where a group of friends are drafting visions of the space.

The group of friends have assembled to save the site from an ongoing threat of eviction while radically dreaming of all that has come before + will come after. The friends dig through archival materials + find negatives of a familiar sound system build.
Sound system deconstructed + reassembled.
